Each year the University of Okoboji Corvette Club hosts a Corvette car show called
Vettes in the Park. There is a gathering held at Sampson Corvettes on Friday to check out his inventory and the car show (Vettes in the Park) being held at Arnold's Park on Saturday.
The University Of Okoboji Corvette Club is excited to announce that the following 3 supercars be featured at the 2026 “Vettes in the Park”event: 2017 Dodge Viper ACR, 2025 Ford Mustang GTD,and 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.
*Representations of the cars will be at the shown, not the ones one ran at Nürburgring.
The Auto Industry uses the Nürburgring Race Track in Germany as the standard site to test the lap time of all supercars around the world for bragging rights. Jackie Stewart named this track as “the Green Hell”. This race track is 12.9 miles long, over 150 turns, extreme elevation changes, narrow width, and minimal run offs within a heavily-wooded area. These supercars are bumping top speeds of 200 mph.
The Dodge Viper ACR was the first American produced supercar to claim the fastest lap at the track, recording a mark of 7:01.3 in 2017, which set the record at that time. Dodge Viper ACR came back and broke the record again in 2023.
The Ford Mustang GTD, built with a carbon fiber body, was the first American built supercar to break the seven-minute time barrier in 2024, making it the fastest American built supercar that year. Then it reset the record time in May of 2025 with a mark of 6:52.072.
Later in 2025, the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 set the new American production car record with a 6.50.763 lap time, which it still holds today.
By the time “Vettes in the Park” arrives on July 25th 2026, it is highly probable that a new record time for an American factory-produced supercar will have already been recorded. The race for the best and fastest goes on!

Starts at 8 AM, awards will presented at 1:15 PM and cars will be released at 2:00 PM.
There is also a raffle for a chance to win one of our trophies and Vettes in the Park merchandise for sale as well!
